World-renowned hepatologist and expert on Hepatitis B

Dr. Robert Gish formed his own medical consulting firm after serving as director of the Center for for Hepatobiliary Disease and Abdominal Transplantation (CHAT), part of the UCSD Health Care System. For more than two decades he has specialized in treating all forms of liver failure and disease, serving more than 22,000 patients in the United States and Asia. He is recognized in Southeast Asia for establishing a roadmap to improve screening and treatment for and prevention of liver disease and Hepatitis B in Vietnam for which he received the  “Humanitarian of the Year” award from the San Francisco-Ho Chi Minh City Sister City Committee. disrepair in the 1980s.
