Director, Economic Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles

Jaime Ming-shy Chen serves as Deputy Director General of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) and Director of Economic Division, TECO in Los Angeles, which is equivalent of Economic Counselor’s Office, representing the Ministry of Economic Affairs(MOEA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in the western 13 states of the United States.

Mr. Chen is a veteran trade diplomat with more than 30 years experience serving in several different countries, namely Spain (2004-2010), Panama (1996-2002, 1988-1991), Italy (1994-1996), Uruguay (1987-1988) and Colombia (1982-1987). Mr. Chen also played a very important role in different agencies under the MOEA within his home assignment in Taipei.

Most recently, before assuming the current position in Los Angeles, Mr. Chen was First Deputy Director General of Bureau of Foreign Trade, MOEA in Taiwan (2010-2013).

Mr. Chen graduated from Tamkang University in Taiwan and earned his Master of Arts Degree in International Economy and Commerce from National Panama University in Panama.
